Joliet Junior College Football Camps
Tom Minnick is entering his third season as the Head Football Coach at Joliet Junior College. In his first two season as head coach, Minnick has lead the Wolves to back to back bowl games and has compiled an overall record of 17-6 including a 10-2 finish last season. Last year, the Wolves finished the season on a 9 game winning streak en route to a 28-21 bowl victory in the Graphic Edge Bowl.
Minnick was selected the Midwest Football East Conference Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season and was also awarded the Region IV Coach of the Year. Although its Minnick’s third year as the Head Football Coach at Joliet Junior College, he is no stranger to the program as he spent eight years as an assistant coach at Joliet.
Since 2000, Joliet Junior College has had an overall record of 65-22 including a three year span from 2000 to 2002 where the Wolves put together an impressive 30-2 record. In 2001, Joliet Junior College finished 10-1 and was voted the NJCAA non-scholarship national champions. The following year Joliet Junior College put together a perfect season ending with a 24-14 win over #1 ranked Georgia Military College in the Sea Island Bowl in Brunswick Georgia.
Joliet Junior College was the first non-scholarship school in history to finish as the #1 ranked football team in all of the NJCAA. The success of the football program comes from the great players that have worn the purple and black uniform and the excellent coaches that have guided them to a winning tradition unlike any other junior college in the Midwest.
Since 2000, Joliet Junior College has had 81 football players receive scholarships to play at NCAA schools. Out of the 81 football players that have moved on, 39 of those athletes received scholarships to Division I universities.
JJC also has ties to the NFL as nine former football players since 2000 have played in the National Football League. Currently there are two former players still active on NFL rosters including Kelvin Hayden a defensive back for the Indianapolis Colts and Rob Ninkovich a defensive end for the Miami Dolphins.
